Everyone knows that the aerospace industry is global and a number of our members are experiencing in different ways the concept of global, and some of these members relate their experiences in china, Turkey, Mexico and Europe that will explain what "Globalization" means.
After 9/11 those members who only relied heavily on commercial business had an extremely difficult time to continue and many were not able to recover, but now we are in an upswing in that sector of the business, most suppliers are looking for a balance of business. What better way to help suppliers in their quest for obtaining their business balance in the future than to have Boeing Commercial play a significant role in the August meeting. We will receive in valuable information on their future growth with an emphasis on the Boeing 787 and see first hand the Boeing 737 moving production line as well as some issues they see occurring with our Government and in the global marketplace.
We will also continue with the suppliers issues developed at our workshops in the fall 2005. The issue of Material Resource Planning (MRP) systems was to be addressed at the meeting in April, but it was not fully covered. We will continue to address this issue led by Vickie Wessel, President, sprit Electronics.
Other areas to be covered are the continuing report on the results of the SMC issues workshop and the AIA executive committee activities, a briefing on the latest legislation, policy, and regulations on acquisition reform, a legislative update and a panel of suppliers meeting customer requirements.
